On her 4th birthday, Sydney got her first ride on a horse and her life has never been the same since.
By the age of nine, Sydney was riding and taking lessons on a regular basis.
As an indication of her continuing commitment to learning all she can about horses and horsemanship, Sydney spends approximately 900 hours per year riding and working with horses, in spite of her busy school schedule.
Over the last 8 years, she has attended over 128 hours of horsemanship related seminars. In addition, Sydney has spent 110 hours riding in hands-on horsemanship related clinics. During the last 8 years she has also worked with or ridden 35 individual horses.
In 2006, 2007 and 2008, Sydney performed with her Arabian mare Cece at the Equine Extravaganza in Santa Rosa, California, providing hours of demonstrations of the truly remarkable level of communication that is possible between an individual and their horse.
Sydney is currently working on finishing her Level 3 refinement with a discipline known as Parelli Natural Horsemanship.
She also works one on one with individual horse owners, helping them overcome behavioral problems they have with their horses and teaching them how to communicate more clearly and connect more deeply with their horse.
